Hey all, sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm pretty new to this and trying to get my bike running. The person I bought my 1974 CB360G from had removed the points plate and spark advancer, and replaced them with a Pamco unit with e-advance. That ended up being the reason the bike isn't getting any spark, so I am trying to replace it with a Charlie's Place electronic ignition. The problem I'm running into is that I don't have the original spark Advancer. Buying one is no problem, but I can't seem to find any good Information on which one to get??
It seems that there is one stamped 312, and one stamped 369.
Could anyone help me understand which one I may need to get? Or what the difference is?
Thank you in advance!

That's good advice, thank you! The bike, unfortunately, came to me without the stock Advancer and points plate. I took a risk with it as it wasn't running when I got it (he said that the bike had backfired and blown the carbs diaphragms), but am hoping I can get it running and learn a little more about maintenance. So far I have only been unable to get it to spark (unless I jump the wires on the Pamco unit)

Don't jump any wires on the Pamco (or any EI system for that matter)
Electronic ignition systems are typically very sensitive to voltage spikes and surges and doing that can cause failure in the various sensitive components.

I would suggest getting a used advancer and points plate on ebay and getn the bike back to running as stock.

That's great to know, I think I'll try going back to the points until I can get it tuned up and running correctly.
Thank you for the advice!

FYI both the 312 and 369 advancers work on the CB360. One is an earlier version and one is the later version. As long as the arms don't get "stuck" from age/neglect, you are good.

I dabbled a bit into eliminating points in my past, but made my way back after getting burned by e-ignition failure.

Yes... hence my signature. When I joined HT in 2016 there was a ton of discussion going on about the issues people were having with Pamco and other EIs, and it caused me to stay with my points
