I’ve been keeping an eye recently for a black bomber and after a couple missed opportunities I found one about two hours from my house. I went and looked at it yesterday and brought it home. It is a 1967 has a clear title which has been in the same person‘s name since 1968.

It is not running and needs a few parts, but I’m happy with the purchase. I’ll throw in a few pictures and then start trying to source the parts I need. The biggest two things I see right now are an instrument cluster and front fork springs and upper covers. The engine oil looks great and the tank inside looks good as well. The brakes and clutch and gearbox all seem to work fine with no binding or grinding.
i’m looking forward to bringing it back to life and getting to know the mechanicals of the bike.

I plan to start a project thread and post some more detail before I start working on it. Is annyone else local to Sauk county Wisconsin area working on a similar project?

I guess you posted these in opposite order because you DO have a project thread - this one. :giggle:

Nice find, aside from the extended forks the bike is pretty much complete. Looks like yet another Bomber with chromed sidecovers, and seemingly with some kind of modification.

Thank you. I thought the forks looked longer the they should. Do you think that they just modified the original ones and I can put them back to original spec with out buying a whole fork set up?

I suspect so, but you'll have to find a set of stock upper fork tubes. We have a few members here who might be able to help.
