Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

That is actually my clan, Clan Hanna/Hannay tartan.
Ahhhh, I see it! Perhaps this is why a friend of mine said I looked like an “Irish hitman” 😂 (of course I do realize to use Irish and Scottish heritage somewhat synonymously is a MAJOR faux pas. Bobby “Scotland” Ferguson almost whipped my a$$ once when he inquired about my heritage and I unwittingly replied “I dunno, Scotch-Irish?). 😱
Seriously, thank you for bringing this to my attention. It is a bit embarrassing for me to admit, but I have learned something new today. While to me this was a stylish plaid suit, I now realize that tartans are a type of plaid, but not all plaids are tartans. Very cool ballbearian that you recognized and pointed this out to me. Cheers to you and your clan, and for allowing me to utilize the tartan. I hope I represented it well.

That's hilarious.
Proud to have such a distinguished representative sporting our family colours. Ancient historians actually believe it harkens back to Joseph's coat of many colours brought along from the early caucasians migrating west becoming the Celt, Druid and Culdee traditions.
I'd probably show up in full Braveheart face paint and my kilt, armed to the teeth, as is proper dress.
What fun it is, knowing one is breaking a few ancient laws that nobody gives a damn about anymore.
Saving history really is still about saving the balls. Raise on, brother!

12ozPBR You clean up really well :p:p:p. I’m used to seeing you at Barber with your floppy Boonie hat and cargo shorts!! Bike looks great and awesome job with your fund raising effort.
Thanks Randall, can I expect you to make plans to be in Greenville on one of your fine machines for the ride in 2026? 😉

It was great to meet KenCM450 today at the DGR in Gettysburg PA. A nice ride on a perfect day with fellow riders and a great cause. Rode about 35-40 miles in and around Gettysburg. Finished the day off with lunch all together at an Irish Pub. Good times.

Hello! It’s his daughter here (yes, the passenger in the photos).

This is a new account, so I wasn’t sure exactly where to put this. Im not familiar with the site (sorry!) and Im unable to PM yet.

Im putting this here to apologize that we couldn’t make it to last year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride like we had promised. My dad (KenCM450) passed of cancer in January of last year. I was looking forward to the 2024 ride. Miss those good times.

Sorry for making it gloomy. I felt bad that we left you hanging.

Ken often talked about his great enjoyment riding with you on his bike. Go to his profile (@KenCM450) and you can enjoy reading all of his posts there, he talked about his daughters often. :)

No apology needed. There was no ride for DGR organized in Gettysburg this year. If you plan on riding your newly inherited bike in a DGR event in the future I would be honored to ride with you. Maybe the Frederick MD ride next year.

Hello, are there any news from 2026 rides?
This year Cracow is postponed by a week due to poor weather. It starts tomorrow at 11:00. My ride starts at 06:30 am, as usual. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

On any Sunday? Not this year. Cracow ride was postponed due to poor weather. It was poor indeed cold, windy (8 degC) and heavy rainfalls for the south of Poland. Next Sunday was sunny and warm (if not hot). Through standard scenic routes I have travelled to Cracow. My family joined us at the meeting square located at old Jewish city district. That was the first time, when my youngest son joined me on a pillion seat. We have crossed old town streets next to the old king's castle. It was a good ride.
