It was great to meet KenCM450 today at the DGR in Gettysburg PA. A nice ride on a perfect day with fellow riders and a great cause. Rode about 35-40 miles in and around Gettysburg. Finished the day off with lunch all together at an Irish Pub. Good times.

Finally, congratulations.
Ladies, usually on Vespas, screamed "Keep Yours' testicles healthy !!!".

It was cold sunny Sunday morning. After 120 km (70 miles?) and two castles on my way I have landed in Cracow.
That was the first time I have struggled with registration, due to attendance limits. Over 280 riders had signed to this ride.

Weather was perfect, ladies were cute & charming, bikes were shining and Kazimierz (former Jewish Cracow district) was full of tourists.

Some interesting bikes had been spotted, some journalist met, endorphines high. After 12 hours, I have returned with feeling that this is only chapter and new stories are coming. Good luck, enjoy Your rides and take care of You.

Thanks for sharing the fabulous pictures Andrew, what a wonderful variety of bikes were there and the other scenery seemed nice as well. And the castles too. :)

Great pics Andrew. There were only 6 riders at the Gettysburg ride. 2 modern Moto Guzzi’s, a Kwai Z900RS a 67 BSA thunderbolt and Ken and I. It’s a cool event.

I didn’t catch the fella on the orange 450’s name but I believe he’s lurking around here =)

^^^Excellent Ed, nice pics and you looked fabulous! And that CL450 did as well, envious am I.

Is this a ride that is done every year? I don't imagine there is one organized anywhere near me in Idaho, but I saw one of them was in Seattle.

Yes this is done the same day/time every year around the world.

https://www.gentlemansride.com/

It's non-profit and for a good cause and is a lot of fun.

https://www.gentlemansride.com/rides Look up and see if there are any rides registered near your location.
I'm pretty sure there are at least rides for Boise and Coeur D'Alene ID

If there isn't one near you, you could always register and host your own group ride locally. https://www.gentlemansride.com/about/host-a-ride

Thank you for that information, I will be looking into locations to see if there is one near me for next year, Cool.

That looks fun....I don't think there are any rides in my area unfortunately

Here is a screenshot of the 3 rides I see in Idaho, maybe one of them is near you. Links to the 3 below

And the entire US list

Thanks AD, I was actually looking at that a few days ago. The closest would be the coeur d'alene ride...still 4 hours away unfortunately. Boise is 6 hours, and Idaho Falls is 8 hours if I go through Missoula and down. Maybe a hotel night will be in order...and trailering the bike. That's a long way on my cm400t when I am used to long rides on my victory, lol.

I'm lucky, the DGR in my neighborhood is only about a 10 minute ride away.

My profile pic is from the parking lot at the 2022 event.

Oops!... I did it again :).
The weather forecast for last Sunday predicted some storms and heavy rains. Distance to cover was adequate to engine capacity (~1ccm/1km), which can be a challenge even on bigger bikes.

I have decided to put some comfort before fashion. I have packed rain suit, took a flip-on helmet, wear shirt, jacket, bow tie and started my trip to Cracow at 0700am. It takes little above two hours to reach destination, including standard photo session in karst river valley covered in the morning sun glory. Curvy road, Hercules's mace, castle and fresh cold air makes good start of this day. Air was clear, so even highest Polish mountains were visible within 200 km range.

I have arrived on the meeting square at the Cracow Old Town, old Jewish district with a lot of history (Schindler factory was placed nearby). This time DGR Cracow event coordinator invited oldtimers and classics to the front line. My little Honda was aligned with old Royal Enfiled, BSA from 1934, Jawa from 1938 and some others interesting bikes. Eldest bike, BSA, was designed with open oil circuit, so small oil marks were present at the parking. We had good live music band with some ragtime standards, some speeches, doctor advices, coffee and cakes service and a lot of fun watching bikes and usual biker small talk.

In total 302 participants were registered, but some of them were missing, due to weather forecast, I suppose.

We have started at 1130am and ride Cracow main city roads with low pace following Jeep Willys with camera crew. Willys had some British genre, as driver put carton below engine immadiately after stop at a square. Low pace was the possible reason why oldest bikes were not able to finish the ride. As usual, full support and service for bikes was provided, so nobody suffered.

After official ride, decorations, official photo and greetings we have disperced to small Old Town streets for lunch/coffee/cigar/pipe and other activities. I have got ramen for the first time and it seems that there is coincidence, that ramen and Honda comes from the same origin.

Storms and rains have spared me all the hassle, some drops washed only 2 km from my home. Ten minutes later rainbow has greeted my return.

I hope we will see together again next year.

Really cool photos and a heck of a lot more scenic than the Dallas "ride". That CB500F was a beauty! I wonder if I can get those tank graphics to work on the CX...

I think, there are no copyrights :). Weather and ,,old town'' vibe gives additional factor.

Aerial view tells a lot:

Great pictures again this year Andrew, and thanks for posting the link to the Google Photos pictures and video. Looks like it was a great time despite the weather threat.

Curious to hear from others who are participating in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride this weekend? I will be riding in Calgary on the newly finished S90. We learned today that the local ride has been pushed back by a day due to a pretty lousy weather forecast so we will be riding on Monday instead. No worries since it's a public holiday in Canada. Love to see pics and hear how it goes for others around the world. I'll be sure to post a few pics afterwards.

For those who aren't aware....

Hi, I will attend this event in Cracow. It seems like weather forecast won't be supportive this year. I'm not complaining, after all, thats also part of the bike adventure. VHT sticker will attend this ride as well, thanks to Tom. I have also matching tie delivered. Keep warm and have fun, I will return with some report next week.

Janus Motorcycles is hosting a ride from Goshen, Indiana. Ride starts at 9:45am. Get there early, have a cup of coffee and look around on how the bikes are put together. From Goshen we head north to the Bonnieville State Park (about 13 miles) and pick up more riders. Then it’s off to Centreville, Michigan where we’ll end the ride at the AMCA Wolverine Vintage Show & Swap Meet. Free admission to those on the DGR ride, and they’ve set aside a parking area for us.

I am registered to ride for the first time in Greenville SC. I think there are around 80 riders signed up to participate. I am not sure how many will be on vintage Hondas but I plan to ride my ‘69 K2 CB450. I will try my best to take some pics although I usually get caught up in conversation and do a lousy job with photos.

Headed down to Goshen, Indiana at 7:20am, 48degF. Cold, but what a great day. Richard planned a route through the Indiana & MIchigan countryside. We ended up in Centreville, Michigan where the AMCA Wolverine club was having their annual show & swap meet.

The 2025 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Greenville SC had its staging in downtown on the Main St bridge overlooking the Reedy River. Quite a picturesque location and an example of impressive coordination of the ride by its host Kelly Acebal and the City of Greenville.

2025 was my first year participating in the DGR and I did my part by riding my vintage Honda K2 CB450, wearing one of my “finest”suits, and raising just under $500 for the cause.
IMG_7356.jpeg

The Greenville event had 85 riders participating that were able to raise in excess of $48,000 for the DGR this year! Given this amount, I think this may make Greenville SC the top worldwide rider group in the DGR when considering the ratio of number of riders vs money raised. I also believe this easily places Greenville as one of the top 20 cities worldwide for total donations received for the DGR. Again quite impressive totals with credit due to the local organizers and dedicated riders!
It should be noted that there were several riders who far exceeded expectations in their fundraising. Clyde Fowler riding a 40’s era Harley was the highest earner with a whopping +$12,000 haul in donations!!! He is undoubtedly one the top worldwide leaders in terms of highest donation totals. Notable as well were at least 2-3 other local riders who raised in excess of $5,000 each! Well done guys! 👏👏👏

As far as bikes in attendance, there were quite a few of the modern retro style such as Triumphs and Royal Enfields along with a good representation of true vintage rides throughout. There were vintage Triumphs and Nortons along with a Motoguzzi or two, the aforementioned 40’s Harley, and I think it was a 30’s era Indian as well. There was even a Ural sidecar rig complete with accompanying canine passenger.

Not to be overlooked was the one other vintage Honda twin other than mine - another CB450. This one very original and highly polished. A very nice ride indeed!
IMG_7362.jpeg

The ride concluded at a local brewery where there were some local participating sponsors, a band playing, food, and a much anticipated celebratory post-ride beer!

And yes, I did try and represent this forum in some small way by placing my helmet with ”bedazzled” VHT sticker in a prominent location on my bike. Good times! ✌️

Fabulous pictures and coverage Chris, and you absolutely nailed it with that suit! And thanks for representing VHT as always. Having been to Falls Park at the Reedy with you previously, I completely agree that it was a perfect location for the gathering. Thanks for sharing what looked to be a great ride and day.

It was time to sort out my bike and prepare for DGR. Spring has come, at least in calendar pages.

What was the reason and excuse for nice and joyfull Sunday ride at the start, turns into kind of duty. It was my 8th group ride in Cracow. 80 miles to cover one way, through scenic roads on limestone valley close to Cracow. It is surprising, how same road looks different from the saddle each time You are riding.

Through bikers community I have gathered some sponsors for the first time, so "ride for a cause" was even more efficient than usual.

Forecast was bad, temp low, wind high, rain was ahead. I have learned already, these were adventure teasers. So it was indeed.

You met nicest people on Honda, no surprise. Christoph the Scot, wearing kilt. He lives in Cracow for almost 5 years. His grandfather, Polish fighter pilot in WWII, married his grandma in 1943. For obvious reasons, they have settled in UK. He rode Honda of course. I have also met a model posing for DGR promotional poster this year. She was riding Honda as well.

Weather has limited participants number. The oldest bike in the pack was BSA from 1934. It rode without any problems from start to finish.

Satisfaction is gained by odds. I have returned late, frozen, tired but happy and satisfied. Bike is reliable, rider preparation was not bad, cigar was unique.

I will share video with my small Rapsberry going through our local Tail of the Dragon:

Awesome pictures and great write-up AndrewJK! You definitely get the wet weather and long distance hardship award. I admire your dedication! 👍

@12ozPBR that is a great looking 450. Do you have a build thread on it. Very classy looking ride. I really like the black rims!
Thanks for the compliment! I’ve been disappointing failure at ever following through with a build thread. This bike was put together during Covid summer 2020 so I have a history with the bike at this point. Since there is some interest I will attempt to slowly detail that history in an after the fact build thread. Once started I’ll put a link to that here.
