Over the past three years I have bought electronic ignitions combined with regulator/rectifiers from Charlie's Place. They were for a '68 CT90 (6v), a '64 CB77 (12v), and a '66 CB450 (12v). In all three cases they were easy to install (I only had to call Charlie one time and he was super helpful) and they worked perfectly. I get better spark and easier starting in all three bikes and they run great. Some people like points ignitions but the reason they aren't used any more is because they wear out and are undependable (in my opinion). I know they are a little pricey but cry once and you will be happy in the long run.

I agree that Charlie's EIs are good quality if you simply want to replace the points and condenser (I'm running points on my 450 because there are few EIs out there that have electronic advance as well, which I would prefer, but they are either crankshaft-style or just very expensive). However, Charlie's rectifier/regulator units are seriously overpriced for the quality level, since the Sparck Moto unit is just as good for $37.50.

I would disagree with you about points being undependable, as my 450 restomod has about 5000 miles of mostly high rpm use on a new set of points installed during the build almost 10 years ago now and they have never left me on the side of the road, and have only needed to be adjusted slightly twice during that amount of time.
