Hi All,
Bought my Nighthawk 450cc 2 years ago, and have done work on the carb but that's about it. My mechanical knowledge is above beginner, but not great so I may be using mislabelling some parts.
I have a hole in the bottom my muffler/cross-over pipe (best photo I took of it, you can...
The exhaust holders—as I understand—from a ‘70-‘73 CL will fit. The silver part of the holder assembly is the hard one for me to find.
The ‘73 was the only model with this particular grab rail configuration.
Here are some pics of what I am looking for. Thanks for checking this out.
Cheers!
Hi all,
I have rencently bought a 1980 Honda CD200 Benly I plan on making it inot a semi scrambler and was wondering if any of the other honda exhaust lineups will work. I am talking about the twin high side pipes similar to what you would find on a CL200. Looking forward to more jap...
I want to order some downpipes for a 1981 CB400T and was wondering if anyone can recommend buying downpipes from CMSNL.
Based on other posts here it seems like CMSNL is fairly reliable but can be pricey for shipping. They have two options, both of which are single-wall reproductions with the...
I want to replicate an exhaust system I saw online but I'd like to get an idea of how much it will effect performance first. The system is a 2 into 1, but one exhaust pipe will be longer than the other before they join together. That and I'll be getting rid of the power chamber.
The system has...
Hey y’all
I’m extremely close to getting my 1971 CL175 road worthy and my last little bit is figuring out an exhaust setup. The PO cut the muffler off so it’s running on just the headers (cut right after the heat shield). I have NO experience with exhaust and am looking for a “cheap” and “easy”...
I have a Honda cb 250n 1984 model with an engine of the cb400t and I wonder if the cmx250 exhaust will fit on, because I have 2into1 and I want to put straight pipes only without any mufflers
Hello, all! First time posting here but I’ve been a lurker for awhile. I’ll admit my searching skills in this forum aren’t very good so I apologize if this is a common question.
I have a CB750 K8 and recently decided to give my MAC 4into2 new exhaust gaskets. Well, since I put everything back...
Hi, not sure if this it the right place for this post, let me know if I should move it
I bought a 1975 Honda CB360T, my first bike, and I'm diving into wrenching. I have it running now, but it's rough. Exhaust on the right side is sputtering and misfiring (I think that's the term for it). Is...
Hi,
I've purchased 3 (VBd, VBa, VBa) carbs for my 1980 CM400T (Canada), got the first two working fine until carb 1's cast throttle hook snapped and carb 2's float needle holder snapped. 1st one I was driving when it happened and I just can't figure out a way to safely reconnect it, and 2nd was...
I recently found a CL450 exhaust on eBay and since these mufflers are extremely rare and expensive in Europe I've bought it for relatively small money. The heat shields, all brackets and the tail pipe was missing but it turned out to be a decent find. The seller wrongly tagged the offer as...
I have traced an excessive oil leak coming from the points cover. Oil is coming out of the seal behind the advancer.
While doing this inspection ive found a lot of up & down play in the end of the Exhaust Camshaft, the aluminium housing has worn so I replaced the housing with a better condition...
Hello.
I'm searching for knowledge of this piece used to stabilize the exhaust pipe in the engine block.
Where can I find replacements?
What are the ramifications of not having a set of them on one side?
Can I move one of these halves from one side to the other in the mean-time?

I started my project today of my newly acquired K4. Did a compression test warm (170 left and 175 right). I noticed the air coming from the right muffler was weaker than the left, then I discovered a very poorly done weld job connecting the right pipe to the muffler. I put my hand at the joint...
I picked up a 1974 cl360 today for 2100. In pretty good condition. Top muffler has a few holes in it though... click the picture to make sure you're seeing all the holes. anyone have experience repairing these holes? If this is not possible, I'd be interested in buying a new muffler, but...
I'm back to working on my old 1969 CL 175 K3 and hung up trying to remove the exhaust pipes. The factory manual says they welded them up to assure better performance.(??) Specifically it looks like they welded the two pipes together via a mounting bracket just in front of the muffler. The...
There's a gap between the head and the exhaust flange. Is this normal?
This is on the right side with exhaust removed.
Looks like there is a crushed copper washer, not sure if it should be more like a donut, and less flat? Looks pretty pressed into place. Not sure how I would remove it. Many...
After spending my shop time last winter on two non-Honda bike projects and getting a START on my CJ 360T project (which I will spend more time on next winter) I decided to get a start on what will be a MAJOR rebuild of a '69 CL175 K3. I mention all of this to indicate that I'm not in a hurry...
Hey Gang ...
I found a pair of aftermarket CB450 headers on eBay ... [LG4386]HONDA CB450 K3 K4 K5 K6 K7 1970-1974 EXHAUST HEADER PIPE 1PAIR [EH1/EH2] | eBay
Has anyone else used these? Also, will these fit the CB500T? I have heard others say that the 450 headers will fit on the 500T ... the...
Hey all, thought I'd share this in case anyone has the same problem.
I had a "mechanic" replace the rusted-out exhaust pipes on my CB175, and the ones he used blocked the kick starter.
Instead of replacing the mufflers again, Russ Lang on the old forum tipped me off to replacing the kick...
