He has been seriously chastised 😠
I’m thinking, whilst looking for a float bowl and obviously not wanting to fork out for a pair of carbs for this one bit!… I might purchase a bit of brass pipe, drill out the stuck bit and effect a replacement. Anyone done this?
I did once have to fabricate a new float needle seat; worked well.

Many have soldered cracks and I think I remember someone fitting a "sleeve" over a cracked overflow tube as well. I'm sure you could fix it with a new tube if you can find a close match.

I get not wanting to buy new carbs, but there are often people selling the bowls on eBay and that could be a good option in this case, although it might involve ordering one from the US.

That is your #2 bowl with the accelerator pump. I likely have one, as they are the same ones used on every CV model of carbs. Given your location a fix is possibly a first choice. If you would like a replacement I will check my stock. If I have one you can have it for the shipping costs.

Bob's your Uncle:

Here is one I have. :D

Wow, thanks for the offers, much appreciated. I’ve put one feeler out here. If that doesn’t pan out and something goes wrong with my fabricating skills…. then you may be hearing from me 😊

John,
Your welcome to it as I revised my original post since it sounded like I wasn't really interested in sending it. I have no problem shipping it, as I have lots of small boxes too.

It’s been done quite a few times. Hobby shops are the best source for fine brass tubing.

Thanks to all again. There’s a possibility on Tuesday of someone here sourcing me a bowl. If no to that, then I’ll check out a repair.
If they don’t work out, Flyin900, if you’re happy to be in third place purely due to distance 😊 then I would be very happy and grateful to take up your offer.
It would be nice if I can create a new one as itā€˜s always nice to have been able to ā€˜fix’ something yourself.

I appreciate that. The chap I got the bike from may have one, but can’t check until Tuesday. That’s the first option, then to fabricate one, then Flyin900.

Three to four possibilities, so thanks again.

That would be me.
I made a hollow cutter to go over tube soldered over broken breather stand pipe.
Would have used silver steel but could only get drill rod
There isn't a lot of room for floats so needed to be 'slimmed down' plus remove excess solder at float bowl boss.
Finding that Keyster repair kit is pretty incredible, even if it is only available from Japan.
Just took a better look at first pic, looks like it fell out, clean it up, use something smooth and pointy to re-shape/enlarge SLIGHTLY then just tap it back in place.
I've done quite a few CB350 ones that 'fell out' when cleaning (another reason I stopped using ultrasonic cleaner)

Thanks Maraakate, that kit looks perfect.
crazypj, mine has snapped off just in the base. I’d heard that can be difficult to solder unlike splits in the side.
Hopefully I’ll hear today re a replacement bowl. If not, then I think that kit from Japan could be the way to go.

I assume, or else everyone would do it, that if I remove the bit of the pipe left in the bowl and fit the existing pipe, it will be too low and fuel would overflow?
I’m reasonably sure the answer will be yes.

Yeah. That would bring the ā€œoverflowā€ level too far down.

Thanks, I guessed so.
Couldn’t find a suitable pipe, so ordered a brass rod and going to create my own.
If it goes pear shaped, then Flyin900 will be getting a message 😊

Sucks it broke off, from picture it looks like 'fell out'.
It would probably be a good idea to 'polish' a slight taper so your few tenths oversize, I did that when I modified fuel line on my Suzuki to avoid sourcing a special bend moulded one.
15 years later, no problems, no leaks and much more convenient being able to use normal fuel line.

Only a fool would say how he tapped the float bowl on the worktop whilst removing some crud from it, forgetting the overflow pipe is longer than the bowl… šŸ™„
I was able to neatly drill out the remaining bit of pipe without touching the ally.

Easily done, I had a piece of soft pine with various holes drilled through to hold float bowls, only tap on an edge but easy to forget and tap overflow as well.
Guess I've been lucky and never broken one, but, it has showed cracks that were not visible before 'tapping out crud'
Been checking every carb I rebuilt with 7~10 psi on Mityvac for years.
When the brass looks a bit oxidised or pitted, I generally put some solder on.
Had a few that looked like new but had cracks right at base, pretty much impossible to see or feel with 'pointy object'. (I use a scalpel for picking at 'green or flaky stuff')
I still have a 360 float bowl that looks almost new but overflow 'just fell off' (it's been kicking around bench probably 10 years now, still mean to fix it sometime which is why I haven't 'put it safe' (only thought about it today as I had to sharpen some chainsaw chains, there it was, glaring at me  )
