Well, my dad and I bought a $250 1971 SL350K1 - I'll probably start a project log soon, it was quite the find. Right now I'm tasked with removing everything from the frame so we can get it sanded and painted.
While I was observing the locations of the motor mounts, I noticed that a motor mount on the lower crankcase (the one that would be right next to your left foot while riding) is sheared off.

It seems that this mount on this era of Hondas is a common point of damage. I've been looking on ebay for a replacement lower crankcase and I've found a couple that would work, but they would come with the rest of the crankcase that I don't really need/want ...
Am I correct in thinking that the best course of action is simply replacing the entire lower crankcase? If so, does anyone have a lower crankcase from an SL350K1 or K2 (the K2 lower crankcase is identical to the K1, according to CMSNL, part number is 11200-312-030) lying around that they'd be willing to sell? Or could we hire someone to fabricate and weld on a new bracket?
