So you've already pulled the engine and disassembled it? Pictures would be great.Going to need lots of parts for this baby. Suggestion for sources especially in Canada? I have good cylinders? Pistons and head are good.
The title of your thread suggests the motor was “blown”. I read this to mean in a bad way, not good, as in “hopped up” with performance mods. Correct me if I’m wrong?Btw does anyone have a recommendation on how to flush the crankcase? Pretty sure some bugs made a home in there.
But are those journeyman mechanics familiar with the DOHC 450 engine? While it's not overly exotic, it is different for someone who has never worked on one before.Fortunately I have 2 journeyman mechanics helping out when they're available.
21mm deep socket and a dremel or angle grinderWith help from this website, YouTube, factory manual and helpful buddies the motor is stripped down to the oil filter rotor. And that's where it stays till we find the tools. While there is an American supplier Ive found I haven't found a supplier here in Canada. Shipping being so expensive, is there any alternative ways of removing the oil filter rotor ?

I think he was implying that the BSA is leaking. It's an embarrassment of riches: HD Sportster (?), BSA Lightning, and a dohc CB450!It’s a Harley. I thought the oil leaks were a feature, not a bug?
I exposed my HD knowledge base there! Not a Sportster, looks like a big twin Softail.
Just to make sure that you know of this re-cycler in the U.S. state south of your province :Going to need lots of parts for this baby. Suggestion for sources especially in Canada?
