Kicking around the idea of a Big overbore SOHC 450

Thanks for such an awesome thread.

I stumbled across this when doing some research for a potential cb360 project.

One thought led to another and I'm wondering if there's enough meat in the barrel casting to accept liners from something like a cmx450 or the cb450n engine.

Is there anywhere that I could get drawings of the various head bolt patterns or would I have to buy head gaskets and work from there?

This thread is about a completely different model than yours so none of it would be relevant to the 360.

We have a member here who has done many big overbore 360 engine builds. Start a new thread in Projects and Builds for your work and mention VHT member crazypj, he'll have plenty of suggestions and thoughts.

Thank you.

Fascinating notes. I'll be keeping an eye for a ZX7 rod.

Around here in Brazil, there was at a point, 565cc racing kits for these bikes. What did these kits have in them? I don't know, looked everywhere but never found the ingredients for those cookies.
I did see at least 2 owners use CB300R (dohc air cooled) pistons which are ~79mm. If I recall correctly, it got the 450 close to 500ccs.

Those modifications were usualy done to the sport-ier CBR450 SR. Some CB owners also used the camshaft from the CBR, which had more torque further on the RPMs (maximum was around 8.5krpms).
