Kick starter plate guide

I'm gradually putting together my CB350 motor. A piecemeal approach. You can see where I am just now in the first photo.

One issue troubling me now is whether I've got the kick starter plate guide correctly positioned (circled in photo). It seems a bit off. Doesn't allow for the ratchet or the spindle to turn.

I've searched for photos in VintageHondaTwins and the Honda service guide, but found nothing conclusive. Any photos or suggestions would be helpful.

BTW, to those struggling with keeping everything in, I found it helps to use a vise to hold the first part in (see photo). Makes it easier to get the end washer and circlip in.

While the part sequence seems correct, Part #3 in the exploded drawing is installed 180 degrees out on your shaft.....
At rest, it should NOT be engaging The #1 gear's ratchet toothing....
