Honda Benly Aluminum Gas Tank... Rare?

Hey Guys, I'm obviously new to the site. Looks like we have a wealth of knowledge here, and that's why I am asking for your help on something...

I represent a small scooter shop in Salt Lake City, Utah. My sole reason for being here is to either sell or find a price for an aluminum alloy race tank off of a late 50's to early 60's Honda Benly. From what I've been told they are rare, and finding one in the condition I have is not common. If anyone wants to give me some pointers on a good price to sell this for, or would like to buy this particular tank for their project, contact me via DM.

This tank is pretty much as complete as it gets. It's the sport style tank which is the "aggressive" styling you don't see often. Gas tank, fuel petcock, rubbers, bushings, everything is all original. The pictures are obnoxiously big, so I've attached a thumbnail. if you are interested in the full size pictures I can email them to you.

Hi,

On ebay, these fuel tanks, if for sale are above 1K USD, that's not only the asking price, also the price sellers get.
These fuel tanks are very, very rare, and sought for, sometimes for years. The tank rubber itself is worth a lot of money, if re-useable.

Unfortunately, that tank has several areas of denting and the knee-pad rubber is severely cracked......
None the less, it's still going to fetch several hundred dollars at a minimum......
The rubber is gone, but the tank itself appears repairable and has cap and petcock....I'll guess $350 to $450......Maybe more.....
Wonder what happened to the rest of the bike........?????

Since our site is pretty new and our membership is still small compared to other long-standing sites, I'd suggest looking around for other sites that involve vintage Hondas like dotheton.com, SOHC4.net, vintagecb750.com, even honda305.com though I'm not sure how much traffic that last one gets anymore. I'm sure there are more that I'm not aware of, maybe others will offer some suggestions
