So far looking at Uship. Others seem to be almost the cost of shipping a car. Anyone have any different experience? Going from NJ to CA.

I used Uship many times. I will again next month to ship the 62 back to my hometown of my youth next month.
Figure your costs at $,95 to $1.25 per mile based on weight, Example is my 62 CA95 with bags. $380 low bid from northern Ky to Northern OH.
Jersey to California is roughly 2400 miles. I would estimate shipping to be $3500 with mileage, insurance and fees.
If you can build a crate and have access to a loading dock you can cut costs. My opinion about costs is directly associated with high fuel prices and inflated costs of doing business.
