My 66 Black Bomber was delivered arrived yesterday and I've started taking stock of what can be salvaged and restored vs. replaced. On the exhaust side, the system effectively rust free but, there are some scratches and dents that need to be addressed followed by re-chroming to get them back to looking new. The muffler cores don't appear to be removable so smoothing the dents from the inside out doesn't seem practical.
Does anyone have experience successfully restoring these mufflers and/or is the cost so high that should I just accept that the more practical approach would be to buy NOS if I can find them.
Thanks!
