My only question about the design is: why attach a mitre saw to the front wheel???

That seems like a good guess.
When you follow the link do you also see the SL125 in Leonard, TX? Looks much more fun, although I get your interest in potentially saving that GL500.
Yeah. I’ve run across that one a few times. It’s a no-title, “ran when parked”. The monoshock rear of the GL makes a really good platform for a bobber - either that or the early 80’s VT600 are what I’m half-heartedly looking at.
That SL would be a good start for a street tracker - albeit a bit underpowered.

No title is kind of a deal breaker — a lot of extra hassle unless you're very motivated for that particular project.
