Bob's Harley

Nice, I like the dressed out look! Please give us a ride report when get it set up the way you want it.

I'm not a fan of forward controls as they put all your weight on your spine. I prefer a set of highway pegs so I can stretch my legs on long rides. My knees appreciate being able to go back and forth between mid and forward pegs.

I found that on this bike I was too bunched up with the mid controls, so forward it is.
I use the foot peg for highway pegs, dual purpose and it cleans up the side look of the bike.
The ride quality of this Sportster is very good, as this is the year they modified the rear suspension, swing arm and shocks.
On the Superlow anyway...................
the front suspension was modified as well.
Comfort is great and cruising at 50mpg at about 1900rpm is sure different.
I'll keep you informed as I put more miles on this puppy.

I am looking for a day where I have some time to relocate the front signal lights to the lower triple tree.
I like them there, it will look better to me.
I adjusted the shocks to there stiffest position, the ride didn’t suffer much, and it gives me a bit more clearance for cornering.
this thing is low.
I purchased a scissor life that is only 3.5" tall when lowered and it works very well to lift the bike.

this is the lift I picked up

I have shown the wrong lift, I checked and this is the one I purchased.
It had a lower profile.

just got back from a ride, I got 68.1 mpg this run.
not too shabby!
also, I purchased Progressive Suspension #412 rear shocks, 1.5" longer than stock.
I am no longer making sparks in the corners, which is nice and the handling did nor seem to change at all.
The bike is very comfortable at highway speeds also, not really working much at all.
back to yard work...............

a friend of mine has a newer sportster and he's achieved as high as 72 mpg.
these simple old scholl engines are pretty good on gas.
so is the owner.............
but that's another story............
