Before and After - show the results of your hard work

I picked up this hobby (addiction) last year and have been working to get this thing ready for new adventures. Still fine tuning one cylinder but it's a blast to ride. She's keeping all the dirt, dents, and dings and I plan on adding even more.

Love the red spare shot shell holder loops

I've just realized that I haven't contributed to this thread yet, so here we go...

Wow that is quite the transformation, beautiful work. You certainly saved an old Honda from inevitably ending up in the dump.

Love the before and after video too, great idea.

Here's my before and after. Almost ready to ride. 1968 SS125A.

Nice job! Those are cool little bikes, even if your tank wing is flying backwards…lol

Yes, a fabulous job, well done Johnda. If only you had done a project thread so we could have followed along... but the finished product, especially considering what you started with, is excellent.

Thank you :) I just love the 500T and is about to restore my nr 5 & 6. Not for the money but as a retired with the time and with still some stamina this is a great hobby.

I'm not very familiar with them and know they are not as many around. Beautiful looking bike. Interesting exhaust crossover chamber in front.

Another one back on the road. One of the more ridden vintage twins I have seen with 28,128 on the clock before the original owner parked/sold it in 1985. I did completely disassemble it but nothing was plated or painted - just cleaned up what was there. It was due for a top end inspection, and ended up replacing the valves, rockers, cams, and pistons. Lower end was in good shape with only shift drum borrowed from a spare engine.

Looks great, same exact bike (except color) that my father had while I had my CL450K4 in high school. Another nice job - but you didn't do a project thread for us to follow along the way...

Sorry about that. I generally only take pictures to remind me how things go together or are routed. I wrench for the road, not the instagram, so the before pictures don't really get taken.

Wow... I love this build. The combination of the red frame, chrome tank and fenders, smaller seat and seat peg mods.. Just stunning. Reminds me so much of those early 60's Honda 305 scramblers with the red frames. Just a wonderful restomod!

Thanks! The mention of chrome tank tells me you're probably commenting on my bike. For future reference, use the button "Reply With Quote" when responding to more than one post so the OP knows it's for them, like I did with yours. (y)

I thought he was talking about a Hodaka Super Rat…lol

A late CB400F with under 2K miles that I did a cosmetic restoration on around 2015 and sold it to a young fellow shortly afterward, as its too small for my riding style.

Before body pics as this sat in a shed for many years and was very rusty everywhere.

Another beautiful job on a bike most of us would love to have - but where's the Before picture...? :) This thread has slipped away from its initial intent, though the offerings are no less than high quality

Here’s another before and after with a more recent “after” photo. The before photo was the day I literally dragged it out of the shed (fork lock rusted shut and brake shoes rusted to the drums) in 2014, and the after photo was a few days ago. I guess you’re never finished with a bike…lol

I could post a lot of take apart photos (boring), yet no photo of the bike originally as purchased in the file. I rarely take before pics as purchased, since I am taking pics of the teardown to help in the reassembly afterwards.

I agree that the disassembly pics would not be as impactful, it's just a shame to not have a comparative before pic when the difference is so stark because of the high quality you put into these projects.

Not really, and especially when you leave them in a shed for 20 years!

Not to mention the points and timing need adjusting again. And I think the carbs may need to be synch’d…and it needs an oil change…and…
