Hello VHT, I am once again asking for your technical help. The center stand on my 1978 CB400A is missing something to hold it up off of the ground while it's stowed. From the part fiche, it looks like its missing the below spring and "C" piece the spring attaches to. Unfortunately, the fiche doesn't show how they attach to the bike in a way that allows the stand to be deployed but keeps it from falling when stowed (thee spring is very rigid). My guess is the spring hooks onto the circled part of the stand and and the small hole of the "C" piece, which gets bolted in somewhere by the arrow in the 3rd pic. The only issue with that is I can't figure out how/where the "C" piece would bolt to. Does anyone know if I'm missing something else or how these attach to the bike/stand?

Hah! I originally (briefly) thought the spring hooked directly onto that before I realized I was missing the other piece, but I totally forgot about it since the only thing securing it is the lateral tension from where it hooks to the stand. These bikes seem like they'll always have new and interesting quirks to find. Thank you, as always, LDR.
