1972 CB 350 front wheel

My front rim is slightly damaged, not bent, looks like surface damage from the previous owner. I see my options as kept it as is, but rim and spokes and the lace a wheel or buy a used one.
I rode it but I rode it for a short distance when I first bought it but I went slow so . . .
Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do or recommend?

I can’t see exactly what it is doing to the tyre and of course this is my personal view. But, i would check internally, check for any sharp bits, check for runout over both axis and if there were any, I’d bring it back to true. Then… I’d ride it. But of course, if I could pick up a rim at a good price, that would be preferable; your spokes look good.

I agree with @Windmill John about checking for any internal damage that might pop a tube while riding but if it were me I would start looking for another wheel assembly or rim which ever is cheaper and easier. It would worry me any time I was riding otherwise.

What are the dimensions of the rim?

I'd ride it, but keep a lookout for a good used one to replace it down the line....like in winter.

I'm in the camp of replacing it and I would suggest obtaining a rear rim, 2.15 width vs 1.85. The spokes work with either rim. The tire will have a much better profile.

I really like the stainless steel spokes if you can find the extra $.

I would change that rim even though it's only cosmetic.
I have several front rims laying around because I fitted wider alloy ones.
Busy at moment but I'll try and find them later (won't be back until ~6:00pm)

the tire is 300S18 it appears the front wheel is 2.5" wide and the back is 3"
I don not know of anyone in my area that laces wheels.
