1969 CL175 project

Just thought I would show off the project I have been working on over the last 6 months. Still have a few bits to finish but it's close to done. It's no show bike but I thought it turned out pretty good, considering what I started with. What is reasonable asking price for a bike like this, should I put it up for sale?1968 Honda CL175.jpg

Sadly those bikes are never worth what they should be. Fantastic work - really dig the blue - might steal it for the revised tank on the GL…

On the price, solid revamps/good pipes with title etc comp out between 2-3K around this market (Dallas).

I note it can't accumulate any more miles on the odometer presently...very clever! heh

I have my own current thread building the exact same bike with the same original color....it's a sweetheart, very fun to ride

Unfortunately the folks most enthusiastic about vintage motorcycles are aging out and I haven't seen much energy amongst the young people for getting involved with vehicles that need careful attention and maintenance, that is to say, anything that doesn't just start and go. Petcock? Choke lever? Shifting? Clutch? Pffft

A nice clean job there Chief!

I sold mine in a package deal of 5 bikes I previously restored to a high level. If your patient and look for a collector it is worth $5K + here in Canada. They are rare up here and it that condition! There were a few people who contacted me when I listed all 5 bikes for sale on Kijiji. Some were looking for just that model specifically, yet I wanted to sell the 5 as a lot and not piece them out.
From what I recall there were two inquiries both from Quebec buyers who wanted to buy only the 1968 CL175 bike. I didn’t save their info unfortunately.

Your mainstand base is hitting your chain as you’re probably aware there. You need the rubber damper stopper on the frame/mainstand area to correct that problem. ;)

Nice work. Bike looks really good.

In my area sellers are asking $2K for barn finds that "will run, just needs a battery". I agree with David that if you are patient you should be able to get $5K+.

Looks great! Congrats!!!

Chief …also did you paint any of the blue parts or are they original??? I am still on look out for a paint color to replicate the original candy blue. Would love to know what you used if you painted.

Thanks for that good info. Yes the mainstand is hitting the chain, I remedied that today with the installation of the rubber bumper

Sorry, I did not do the paint, the previous owner did the paint and don't know what he used.
