Hey All,

Looking for a little advice on the throttle cable for CB500T build ... I am using clip on bars (bought the Tarozzi's, 35mm, 70mm Height "High-Rise" Tarozzi Clip-on Handlebars | Vintage DIY Motorcycle Parts | Dime City Cycles) ... if I remember correctly, the standard OEM push/pull throttle cable will likely be too long for these low bars. I know folks have gotten custom cables through Motion Pro that are pretty good, however, does anyone know of a throttle cable sold that is already shortened to "café racer" bar height?

Also ... do you stay with the push/pull setup? I know its a safety feature, but is it really necessary?

Thanks for the input! Bill

New Info - Just took a look at the Dime City site on this question and found these ... anyone using them? Shortened 2-into-1 Throttle Cable Fits: Honda CB350/CL350 & 450 w/ Clubmans or Clipons | Vintage DIY Motorcycle Parts | Dime City Cycles

I’m using something just like it sold by 4into1. Still a bit long but I pointed the elbow at the handlebar forward to take up extra slack. Works well

Are you confusing the throttle setup on the 500T with the 360? The 500T has a single throttle cable at the right switch, the carbs are very much like the 450 carbs, no push-pull. That said and as RockReef pointed out, the short cable offered by Dime City (which I think is way too expensive) might still be a tad too long as clip-ons are even shorter than flat or 400F bars, but the workaround to save money on custom cables is just as RockReef described. Create a gentle curve from the elbow out of the switch/throttle assembly outward around the right fork tube and down the left side of the frame neck to help use up the excess. Buy this one instead
