Hi all,
Just picked up this beauty – a 1967 (I believe) Honda 125 twin. It’s new to me, and I’m keen to learn more about exactly what I’ve got.

When I search online or look through photos, there seem to be quite a few small differences across models (tanks, badges, side covers, exhausts, etc.), and I’m hoping someone here might spot the clues and help point me in the right direction.

Any thoughts on what specific model it might be and what to look for? Or any production-year quirks I should know about?

Appreciate any help – thanks in advance!

Cheers

According to the last rego papers its a CB125A 1967
Chassis No. CB1254023433
Engine No. CB125E4023239

Looking at the tank , front cushion ,side covers cb125ak3 seems to be correct. Could you take a picture of the tacho/speedo meter? Curious about the differences with the later cb125k2 ,k3,k4.

You guys nailed it. Wish I had more information on this one, but my Honda ID Guide only covers US models and that is definitely not the US model SS125A, a quite different twin.

That is a much nicer version, more like the larger twins of that period

It looks like previous owners have deleted the chrome and painted either red (guards) or black (indicators, exhaust etc).
All the info on similar bikes appear different in appearance.
Is it best to return to original? Thoughts?

Looks pretty nice to me, the way it is Finchy. I'm not a purist and wouldn't change a good paint job unless it clashed with my kilt.
I bet it's a fun little bike.
