CL77 old electronics

How durable are the old electrical components on a CL77E 1965–1968 Honda CL77 Scrambler (a 305cc motorcycle)? I am working on a chopper my father put together and it has the condenser, selenium rectifyer and battery eliminator from back when he built it. Sat in a garage and not been ran much since the mid 80s.

About as reliable as anything, stone-axe simple. You might consider switching to a modern rectifier/regulator. If it was Mine, I would toss the battery eliminator and install a battery, better running at low speeds and safer in modern day traffic.

I am going to update the electrical components and possibly change it to battery.... I like the idea of no battery but I have been reading about the low idle issues with an eliminator.

I agree with Mike in Idaho, if you want any type of reliability, change to using a battery and modern rectifier/regulator. Mine have been updated on my 1972 CB450 and I have no electrical issues.
