A question which you may poo poo, say try it, or warn me off it totally.
I’m about to set the valve clearances. I haven’t had the engine running; although have heard it in the past. Reading the Clymer manual, it says warm up the engine, get it idling and then loosen cam chain adjustment nut.
I guess the correct thing to do is set the valve clearances, get bike built back up, run it, adjust the cam chain tension and set valve clearances again.
But… can I set the chain adjustment:
Thanks.

- Statically?
- Turn the engine over on the button and adjust?
- Or something else?
Thanks.
