Hello,
Has anyone done the TSB update to there CB450 KO oil pump? I’ve read that a later model pump is another option for better lubrication to the top end.Which later pump is the best choice or just modify the existing KO pump?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Is said new oil pump still available?

If you're speaking of Jay's pump, yes, and it's the best investment/improvement with the least modifications out there.

The OEM 5 speed 19mm oil pump Brody mentioned will fit all 450 engines including the 4 speed (which came with a 16mm piston pump). When using the 5 speed pump on the 4 speed engine, you have to change all the parts involved including the "pushrod" on the back of the clutch basket, so all the 5 speed parts match and fit together properly. The parts fit both the 4 speed and 5 speed clutch baskets.

Send Jay a PM. He checks in fairly often, but you may as well just reach out. I assume he's planning to keep offering them for sale, but I don't know anything about the current inventory.

He has them listed for sale on eBay, just ran across it in a search for pictures

I'm sure that's Jay, he lives in Enfield, CT. where the pump shows shipping from.

And you're right, but the first time I saw the eBay listing (and I thought it might have been a different one) it showed the name of the company he's selling them under, Miles Beyond Ordinary Designs. Now you have to go to the seller's name to see it.

Yikes, take a break for just a minute and the sky falls, lol!

yes, the pump is still available, in the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easier to manage through eBay. Shipping pretty much anywhere in the US is under $10 and I can offer a discount if through the group.

I started my daily rider the other day on a Monday after sitting all weekend and gosh, the engine noise was really loud then just stopped. I’ve never heard such a distinct change in timbre before (well, I’m kinda deaf anyway but I could really hear this one). Really need to keep these venerable twins running and riding!
